Portrait of Ellie wearing a linen apron while baking in a bright home kitchen.

Hi, I’m Ellie!

Welcome to The Kitchen Notebook! I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m Ellie, the recipe developer, baker, and creator behind this little corner of the internet. My love for cooking began when I was just 9 years old, and I’ve been in the kitchen ever since. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion for creating recipes, learning new techniques, and sharing food with the people I love.

Growing up in a Dominican family, the kitchen was always the heart of the home. It taught me that food is about so much more than ingredients, it’s about tradition, connection, and creating memories around the table. Today, as a stay at home mom of three, that same love inspires every recipe I develop.

At The Kitchen Notebook, I create reliable homemade dessert recipes that are approachable, thoughtfully tested, and made to bring confidence to home bakers. I believe great baking starts with quality ingredients, strong fundamentals, attention to detail, and never cutting corners. Those values are at the heart of every recipe you’ll find here, and I hope they inspire you to create something delicious in your own kitchen.

What You’ll Find Here

The Kitchen Notebook is filled with approachable homemade dessert recipes designed for real home bakers.

Here you’ll find everything from soft cookies and chewy dessert bars to cakes, cheesecakes, muffins, seasonal favorites, and Dominican inspired treats. Along the way, I’ll also share baking tips, helpful techniques, and kitchen advice to help you feel more confident every time you bake.

Whether you’re making dessert for a special celebration or a quiet weekend at home, my hope is that you’ll discover recipes that become family favorites for years to come.
